Reading and notifications

Bundled dohe can be read without an account or internet connection. Text-size choices, notification settings and recent public articles are stored on your device. Public articles are cached for up to 24 hours. Optional Android notifications check for public updates periodically; Android may delay checks to conserve battery. Turn notifications off in the app or Android settings.

The native app does not request contacts, precise location, microphone or advertising identifiers. An online image attachment uses the system picker to access only the file you choose. Native reading and periodic notifications do not upload a push token.

Account and community information

If you create an account, we process your name, email, account identifier and authentication information to provide sign-in and account management. Passwords are stored as hashes. Optional Google sign-in provides profile information and identifiers needed for authentication through your system browser. We do not receive your Google password.

Information you choose to submit may include your profile, telephone number, community or business listing, location entered in a form, contact requests, registrations, saved items, reports and uploaded photographs or editorial content. We use it to provide the requested features, administer community content and respond to support or abuse reports. Public listings and published contributions can be seen and copied by other people. Only submit information you are entitled to share.

Cookies and providers

The website uses session cookies and local storage for preferences. Online requests disclose network information, including IP address and browser or device details, to the hosting infrastructure. Cloudflare processes hosted requests, database records and uploaded files. Google processes information when you choose Google sign-in. Website push notifications, when enabled and configured, use Firebase and store a delivery token. External links are governed by those services’ privacy policies.

We do not sell personal information. The app contains no advertising or advertising tracking SDK. Data is sent over HTTPS. Providers may process information outside your country under their own privacy notices.

Retention and deletion

Account information is retained while your account is active. To delete your account, open Account → Delete account, sign in again if requested, type DELETE and confirm. The same process is available from the public account-deletion page. Uninstalling alone does not delete your online account.

Deletion removes your account, sessions and associated member records from the active database. Your uploaded files are hidden immediately and queued for removal. Public copies already fetched by other devices may remain cached for up to 24 hours. Independently saved or republished copies are outside our control. Infrastructure security logs and disaster-recovery copies can persist according to provider retention settings; they are not used to restore a deleted account for ordinary use. Contact us about retained copies or information identifying you in somebody else’s contribution.

Clear app storage or uninstall to remove local preferences and cached articles. Browser storage can be cleared separately. Contact the email above for access, correction, privacy or deletion assistance. We may need to verify account ownership.

Children and changes

Community account features are intended for adults and are not directed to children. A parent or guardian can contact us to request removal of a child’s information. We will update this page when our practices change.
